Kids Ministry Leader

About the Role

Jubilee City Church is looking for a Kids Ministry Leader who loves Jesus, loves children and families, and wants to help build a healthy, safe, engaging, and Christ-centered children's ministry.

This volunteer leader will help lead and develop Jubilee City Kids as our church grows. The goal goes beyond children's programming: we want children to encounter Jesus, learn God's Word, feel known and cared for, and look forward to coming to church.

This is a volunteer serving opportunity. Specific responsibilities and availability will be discussed with the Elders during the application process.

Reports To

The Kids Ministry Leader reports to and serves under the oversight and direction of the Elders of Jubilee City Church. Jubilee City Kids operates under their spiritual leadership and the church's policies, doctrine, vision, and direction.

This leader works closely with the Elders and other ministry leaders, seeks guidance on ministry decisions, and communicates needs, concerns, and progress openly.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Jubilee City Kids, keeping its ministry centered on Jesus and faithful to God's Word.
• Recruit, screen, train, encourage, schedule, and develop volunteers; build a healthy pipeline of future volunteer leaders.
• Prepare and oversee biblically faithful, age-appropriate curriculum and lessons that reflect the church's doctrine and direction.
• Ensure classrooms, materials, and children's areas are prepared before services; oversee Sunday morning children's ministry operations.
• Create a fun, welcoming, Christ-centered environment where children are known and cared for.
• Maintain safety and security procedures, including appropriate volunteer screening, background checks, child check-in and check-out, classroom ratios, and church safety standards.
• Follow church child-protection policies and promptly communicate safety concerns through the church's established procedures.
• Communicate clearly with parents and caregivers, welcome new families, and help with appropriate family follow-up.
• Maintain ministry supplies and communicate resource and equipment needs to the Elders.
• Develop practical systems that support ministry health and continued church growth.
• Participate in relevant leadership meetings, training, church events, and ministry planning; collaborate closely with the Elders and other ministry leaders.

Qualifications / Who We're Looking For

• A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a growing relationship with Him, strong character, and spiritual maturity.
• Agreement with and support of Jubilee City Church's beliefs, mission, vision, and values, including Freedom, People, Purpose.
• A genuine love for children and families and a desire to help children understand and respond to God's Word.
• Ability to recruit, encourage, organize, and develop volunteers with patience and care.
• Dependable, organized, teachable, and able to communicate clearly with children, parents, and teammates.
• Willingness to collaborate and serve under the spiritual leadership and direction of the Elders.
• Commitment to protecting children, maintaining appropriate boundaries and confidentiality, and following church safety policies.
• Willingness to complete the church's volunteer screening, background-check, and child-safety training requirements before serving with children.
• Availability to support Sunday morning ministry and agreed-upon preparation, meetings, and training.
• Previous children's ministry, education, leadership, or volunteer-management experience is preferred, but not necessarily required.
